A.J. Evert
Associate, PLA, SITES AP
A.J.’s professional journey is guided by a passion for transforming ideas into tangible projects and custom site features shaped with inspiration from the local environment. He has worked with teams on projects ranging from master plans to intricately detailed sculptural site elements. Working with project teams and engaging directly with the professionals who construct these projects is one of his favorite parts of being a landscape architect. These opportunities tie each project together, combining shared knowledge, and communication for a comprehensive understanding of unique site needs. This process achieves aesthetic and functional criteria for clients that works within a site’s context.
A registered landscape architect in Minnesota and a SITES Accredited Professional, he studied Sustainable Urban Dynamics at Arizona State University. He was a research assistant for an Urban Sustainability Research Coordination Network, and took part in wetland ecosystem research at Tres Rios, a water treatment wetland in Phoenix. After receiving his Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota, A.J. was a Research Fellow for the Design Duluth Collaborative. He also assisted a local artist with experimental public art installations.
As an outlet for creativity and personal expression he enjoys riding and maintaining his motorcycle as well as flipping through an ever-growing music collection. Additionally, he finds influence at his family’s farm, connecting back to the rural landscape. These personal interests enrich his perspective and contribute to a well-rounded approach to landscape architecture.
