EMILY ALLEN

Designer

Originally from the West Coast, Emily has always been drawn to the outdoors, spending countless hours exploring and traveling, which helped cultivate a deep appreciation for the harmony between landscape and the built environment. Her love for adventure and discovery fuels her creativity and inspires her love for design, while respecting and preserving the natural environment.

She received her Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2020, and her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics from Portland State University in 2014.   Emily moved to Minnesota after college, for its vast connections to the outdoors and nature and worked for a local design / build firm getting critical hands on experience in the field while immersing herself in planting design and materiality.

Emily has an extensive background in theatre, literature, and gaming and strives to create a sense of curiosity, connectivity, and drama through her design aesthetic.  She places great value on the cultural, ecological, and historical connection to place and strives to create a world with deeper connections through design, while fostering a sense of wonderment, playfulness, and beauty for all to enjoy.

In her spare time Emily enjoys reading, gaming, sewing, and studying the uncanny.
