AMY SCHULZ

Designer

Amy values the intersection of experiential and affective landscapes. She recognizes that design solutions should thoughtfully integrate the complexities of place with existing cultural systems and places high importance on research, site investigation, and analysis during the design process.  She embraces a multifaceted approach to design, utilizing mapping, recording, and revealing techniques to articulate and amplify the true value of a landscape.

Amy earned her Master of Landscape Architecture with a Certificate in Urban Design from University of Virginia in 2023, and her Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Environmental Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. While at UVA, Amy contributed to numerous research projects, most notably investigating nature-based solutions for coastal landscapes working extensively with the Army Corp of Engineers.  She also organized professional development opportunities and social events within the UVA landscape department.  Amy’s interest in environmental issues, sustainability, and public health led her to participate in several academic programs abroad, most recently studying urban design and public spaces in Barcelona, Spain.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Amy is excited to reacquaint herself with the Twin Cities by exploring the area on her bike and with her dog, Pepper, who is an office favorite.  She is eager to utilize the knowledge that she has acquired during school and throughout her travels and excited to familiarize herself with the craft and materiality of Minnesota’s landscapes while deepening her understanding of native plants and ecosystems throughout the region.
