Motivated by his educational background in environmental science, lifestyle, and work experience, Alex has developed a deep passion for design grounded in ecological resiliency and innovative detailing across all scales. For each project he strives to understand the historical significance and contextual ecologies of the project site and seeks to find simple, practical, and dynamic design solutions that blend seamlessly into the landscape.

Alex received his Master of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism degree from the University of South-ern California and Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science degree from Claremont McKenna College. Prior to TVLS, Alex worked as a landscape designer at Design Workshop in Denver and RIOS in Los An-geles where he worked on a variety of project types including residential, mixed-use, commercial and civic projects at all phases of design. From his past work experience, Alex has developed a passion for residential design and building resilient and artful gardens for people to connect with nature and find comfort.

An avid outdoorsman, Alex looks for any opportunity to get outside, travel, and explore. Most often in his free time he is fly fishing for trout on the creeks and rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
